WPSD K-12 Educational Technology Literacy
Woodland Park School District recognizes that today’s society is exposed to a variety of digital technologies in nearly all areas of our lives. We believe that to support this mission, technology and information literacy skills must be integrated into students’ education. The district has a long history of using technology literacy to make learning an active, enjoyable and rewarding experience.
The mission of the Woodland Park School District’s Educational Technology and Literacy Plan is to prepare students to succeed in a global, high-tech information rich society and ensure that all students and staff are effective users of tools, ideas, and information. All district staff will continue this partnership to meet the district’s goals and the content, information literacy, and technology standards.
All 5th grade and 8th grade students take a technology assessment in May through Learning.com. This assessment is a blend of multiple choise and knowledge-based questions that is interactive and performance-based. Students take the assessment on-line and takes approximately an hour to complete. Students are assessed on: systems and fundamentals; social and ethical issues; word processing; spreadsheets; multimedia presentations; telecommunications; the internet; and databases.
